Fox & Hounds Tavern Wins Readers’ Choice Award for ‘Best Nightcap’
The Fox & Hounds Tavern has long been a favorite spot for Cheshire visitors and St. Louisans to enjoy a cold pint and a bite to eat. Now the cozy pub has been preserved and reinvented for the next generation and St. Louis sure has taken notice! Each year, St. Louis Magazine features a tribute to the exceptional in St. Louis and this year, Fox & Hounds Tavern has won the Readers’ Choice Award of “Best Nightcap” in St. Louis.
As St. Louis Magazine explains, “Chill out in one of the large red wing chairs by the stone fireplace in this English-inspired lounge at The Cheshire. Try one of the dozens of varieties of Irish, American, and Scottish whiskey, and order a bite off the small-plates menu. Don’t miss the live music every Friday and Saturday night from 8 to 11 p.m.”
The Restaurant Named ‘Best Brunch’ in St. Louis
From their velvety scones to their house-smoked salmon, the tradition of Sunday Brunch at The Restaurant is mouth-watering! Alive Magazine certainly agrees and has named The Restaurant “Best Brunch” on its 2013 Hot List, a yearly roundup of all the favorite hot spots in the heart of St. Louis.
As Alive Magazine explains, “This newcomer has taken the brunch scene by storm – and it’s no wonder… Executive Chef Rex Hale’s philosophy of sourcing ingredients from local and environmentally responsible producers shows in dishes like the Ozark Forest mushroom-spinach omelet with Baetje Farms goat cheese.”
The Cheshire Earns Title of ‘Top Restaurant Complex’ of 2013 in St. Louis
St. Louis Magazine’s annual A-List has announced The Cheshire as ‘Top Restaurant Complex’ in St. Louis for the year 2013.
As St. Louis Magazine explains, “The most target-rich environment for St. Louis–area gourmets must be at The Cheshire in Clayton. The inn features the lovely, cozy Restaurant at the Cheshire, as well as the sleek, Italian-flavored café Basso in the basement. The Market, in rustic Tudor splendor, features breakfasts and lunches of deli-type fare. And Fox & Hounds Tavern, The Cheshire’s own pub, is the perfect place for a cold one and a sandwich after a long day chasing foxes in Clayton’s wilder environs.”
