A St. Louis tradition with roots dating back to the 1920s, The Cheshire embodies the charm and authenticity of a traditional British inn with all the modern conveniences of today. Generations of St. Louisans and thousands of visitors to our city came to love the old world feel and quirky charm of The Cheshire Inn and Lodge. What started as a modest hamburger joint 80 years ago, evolved through the decades into a landmark restaurant and hotel known as the Cheshire Inn and Lodge. In 2011, this local treasure underwent a multi-million dollar renovation preserving its charm and character while transforming The Cheshire into a modern, luxury boutique hotel.
This renowned St. Louis luxury hotel retains all the historic detail for which it is known, yet seamlessly blends the past with the future. From the hand-carved mantle in the living room to the stained glass windows throughout, the rich patina of tradition is alive and well. Eighteenth century antiques and historical fixtures live alongside flat-screen TVs and granite bathrooms in our exquisitely themed suites.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of culinary experiences from any of our popular dining establishments. Fox & Hounds serves small plates featuring traditional English favorites and is also served poolside and at the Clayton Courtyard. The Restaurant is a true blend of the old and new offering a one-of-a-kind upscale dining experience. Basso is a sleek and exciting basement pub with an Italian accent and a playful attitude. The Market is a casual neighborhood cafe and gourmet market offering an eclectic and tasty selection of home-made foods, gourmet gifts, boutique wines and fun finds for foodies.
