Kathleen Durbin’s Story
I was raised with Medart’s…nothing better!
In September of 1964, I made a phone call to my mother from a payphone near the ladies room of the tavern. I told her that Rob and I were going to get married. We had only had 10 dates, but knew each other since 1956. I guess I was being a “chicken” because I did not want to tell her in person! She said “We’ll discuss this later”, and hung up the phone! At least I broke the ice, which is what I intended to do. 46 years later, we have 7 children and almost 10 grandchildren. I guess you could say it was all thanks to the Cheshire Inn and The Fox & Hounds Tavern that we are still one! I hope this puts us “INN It To WIN It!” What fun that would be!
