Kimberly Curran Cole’s Story
The Cheshire holds many memories for my family and me and we are looking so forward to making more memories when you reopen! It all began when my husband and I attended Washington University School of Law before we were married. We would often go with friends to the Cheshire on Wednesday nights and on weekends to take a break from studying and enjoy a couple of cocktails. My husband and I had such fond memories that we chose this venue to have our wedding rehearsal dinner in May of 1999. We had a great time, and the dinner and staff were wonderful! A couple of years later, we celebrated the wedding engagement of my brother and his girlfriend at the Fox and the Hounds next door. Recently, we watched the movie, Up in the Air (which we knew was partially filmed at Cheshire) in which my Dad played the role of an extra who sat right behind George Clooney on the plane. I went to the props’ sale after the movie to get a few souvenirs for my dad for our movie Premier Party we were having for him. I was excited to find some props from the scene in the movie at the Cheshire location. I was actually interviewed on the nightly news and when asked about my treasures, shared the pride we had in my dad and how I had chosen souvenirs from the Cheshire scene because of all the special memories my family had there from my rehearsal dinner and brother’s engagement. We look so forward to having many more events and making more memories at such a wonderful St. Louis venue filled with rich traditions and memories.
