Cheshire Guestbook

My husband and I were married in 2000. We had our wedding reception at the Cheshire Inn. We stayed in the Sherwood Forest room on our wedding night. My husband was unable to look at the fantasy suites... (Dana Marton)

Mr. and Mrs. Richard E. Adams’s Story

There are more memories than we could possibly express in a mere 300 words, so we may have to do this more than once! We watched the building being built and were fans of Jackie Lang’s entertaining at the Fox and Hounds from around the first week of its opening. We’ve stayed at the inn again and again, for events like birthdays and anniversaries or just for romantic getaways to secluded, beautiful rooms with four-poster beds. Our daughter was conceived at Cheshire and years later she was photographed on her wedding day in the lobby with the beautiful stained glass in the background. The photo is still in her wedding album. We became close with Bill Benson (our wedding anniversaries were on the same day!) the marvelous pianist/singer who knew – or learned – all of our favorite songs and always played them for us at the Fox and Hounds. We attended Bill’s long and dedicated songfest to benefit The School for The Blind (about 300 songs all by memory!). In 2005, we celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with a stay at the inn after dinner at the restaurant and an evening at the Fox and Hounds. A large part of our fondness for England has also been inspired by the Cheshire Inn. In our unceasing love affair with Merry Old England, we’ve traveled there 19 times and always compare it to The Cheshire. The Cheshire has been so much of our life!
